Abstract : This study explores the growth potential of ESG-based mutual funds in Indonesia, and highlights its implications for retail investors.
Objective : Analyzing the strategies and prospects for the emergence of ESG mutual funds in Indonesia with a focus on retail investors.
Methods : The study was conducted using a qualitative approach through literature analysis, regulatory studies, and the PESTEL and SWOT frameworks.
Research results : The analysis found a paradox between the OJK's regulatory support and the government's deregulation environment. Opportunities arise from a young, digitally savvy demographic, fintech as a distribution channel, and synergies with Islamic finance. The main obstacles are low literacy, the risk of greenwashing, and policy inconsistencies.
